We have nothing but the best of memories from our time spent with Mrs. Hawkins. So kind and so loving, she showed us all how good life can be.

Lynn and Judy, I just read the e-mail about the death of Lynn's mother. I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend the memorial service. I had my fifth vein surgery yesterday and I don't get out for about twenty-four hours afterward and am even then a little limited in activity. I read that even though she has had health issues, this was unexpected. My prayers are certainly with you, as I know the feelings of unexpectedly losing one's mother. Micki Carpenter

I remember Mrs. Hawkins, Melba, as a kind, sweet woman. She seemed to always have something to laugh about which made her fun to be around. As I made dinner for my family last night, I realized I was making one of her signature dishes, spaghetti and meatballs. I rarely make meatballs but for some reason I wanted to last night and then remembered that Melba had shared this meal with me on several occasions. She will be missed. Love, Jeanne (Judy's sister)
