Jessie Lopez Ortiz, 81, of Nederland passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 21, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Port Arthur under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday with a Christian Vigil and Rosary at the mortuary.
Jessie was a native of Pickering, Louisiana, raised in Beaumont, and lived in Nederland for over 50 years. Jessie was a loving Mom and homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband Johnny G. Ortiz; parents Jesse and Petra Lopez; and brother, Felix Lopez.
Mrs. Ortiz is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ortiz Coffman and husband Karl of Junction, TX, Elizabeth Loughnane and husband Kevin of Weimar, TX; son, Joe Ortiz and wife Diana of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother, Marcelino Lopez and wife Mary of Beaumont; grandchildren, John Ortiz, Jeff Ortiz, Joaquin Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz, Cassi Valenzuela and husband Peter, Megan Golubic, Gabriel Ortiz, Analise Ortiz, Simon Ortiz; and a host of other relatives and friends.
