Claire Ellen Charles, 49, born in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 2, 1958, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008. She was surrounded by her loving family members at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the mortuary.
Claire graduated from Nederland High School in 1976. She graduated from Lamar Institute of Technology and, in 1993, graduated from Lamar University with a BBA in accounting.
She taught computer classes in the continuing education department at Lamar University for ten years. She worked as a self-employed computer operator for many years.
She is survived by her parents, Harry and Belva Charles; brother, Cary and wife Kathy; nephew, Taylor and niece Tracy as well as several cousins and her aunt Molly Sweeney.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Red and Ellen Sweeney, and grandmother, Fannie Chafety and her uncle, Jack Sweeney.
