The last time I saw Mrs. Tumlinson was in the ICU. It was a far cry from just weeks before when I saw her on a daily basis at the courthouse. She held her head high, shoulders back and her steps were resolute. She was a lady from start and finish and where many would have wilted and had a serious melt down she held her composure. We were neighbors. I attended school with her kids and my family shopped at the Drake's Convenience Store. T-Bone and my dad were friends. We have a long history. I went to the grave on Sat. January 19th and would you believe - the red roses were just opening - into a glorious splendor?! I like to think of Mrs. Tumlinson as a rose - on the other side - beautiful, vibrant and eternal. Her hair is full again - her smile permanent and her health restored. The other side is a mystery to us all but it does hold great hope and promise. St. Paul said it best "Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished, forever) in and unto victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" I Corinthians 15:; 54, 55
