Ruben K. Venable, 50, of Vidor and formerly of Nederland, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2008 at his residence.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. Dan Malain officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Monday, January 7, 2008 with a Rosary to be recited at 6 pm at Broussard’s in Nederland.
Mr. Venable was a native of Port Arthur and a lifetime resident of the area. He was a crane operator in the construction industry and a member of Local # 450.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon Venable of Vidor; his mother, Margie Smith of Vidor; his daughter, Keisha Venable of Port Arthur; son, Kagan Venable of Vidor; brothers, Ricky Venable and his wife Melinda of Port Neches and Kirk and James Venable of Vidor and his sister, Starla Cornelison and her husband Brian of Vidor as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
