Vina Louree Hollis, 88, a retired teacher, died December 31, 2007 at a personal care home in Conroe, Tx.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Thursday, January 3, 2007 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland. Interment will be on Friday, January 4, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Houston National Cemetery in Houston. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday at the mortuary.
Vina Hollis, a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, was a bilingual elementary school teach in the Galveston and Hitchcock, Texas public schools. From 1950 to 1968, she owned and operated Junior Primary School, a private kindergarten and first grade school in Nederland, Texas. She was born April 12, 1919, she was a 1936 graduated of Nederland High School.
Vina Hollis was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Hollis Jr., and a son Randall H. Hollis. She is survived by her two sons, Robert M. Hollis of Groves, and Darrell E. Hollis of Rockville, Maryland; and four grandchildren, Cory Hollis of Groves, Joseph Hollis of Groves, Darrell Hollis Jr., of Rockville, Maryland and Christopher Hollis of Rockville, Maryland.
