Rose Fontenot, 86, of China, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Her husband, Preston Fontenot; and daughter, Fay Ellen Fontenot preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane Martin and her husband Jim of Woodville and Doris Sullivan and her husband Paul of Houston; sons, Jesse Fontenot and his wife Terrie of Beaumont and Ronald Fontenot and his wife Brenda of China; brother, George Allen Manuel of Tyler; sisters, Joyce Baker of Lumberton, Verna Scott of Beaumont and Ennis Dequeant of Mississippi; nine grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at China Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Mortuary.
Mama believed in us, she praised us, encouraged us and taught us to love unconditionally. We continue to glean from these lessons learned.
