Clifton Augustus (Pap) Bass, 77, of Kountze died November 28, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Kountze on October 7, 1930 to William Theodore and Edna Pearl (Arendall) Bass. A lifelong resident of Kountze, he retired from Iron Workers Local 125 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his children, Theresa Mitchell and her husband Dudley of Kountze, Clifton (Bubba) Bass of Kountze, and Richard (Rusty) Roth and his wife Lessie of Honey Island; sisters, Evelyn Christian of Vidor and Elsie Franks of Georgia; and eight grandsons, Richard (Ricky) Walters, Jacob Walters, Mason Walters, Kody Mitchell all of Kountze, Dustin Mitchell and his wife Tina of Silsbee, Correy Walters and his wife Rachel of Beaumont, and Kyle and Kaleb Roth both of Kirbyville. His wife of thirty three years, Rachel, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Robert Moore and Reverend Jim Cryer officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the mortuary.
