Hugh Allen, 76, of Hillister passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 30, 2007 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Thomas Brown officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the mortuary. Graveside services and burial will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Mount Olive Cemetery, in Altha, Florida under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown, Florida.
Mr. Allen was a native of Camden, Arkansas and lived in Nederland for 30 years until moving to Hillsiter 20 years ago. He retired as an operator from Gulf Oil Corporation with 30 years of service. He also served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Allen is survived by his daughter, Debbie Dean of Nederland; son, Paul Allen and his wife Julia of Blountstown, Florida; grandson, David Brown of Nederland; sisters, Alice Stubbs and her husband Ralph of Port Neches, and Jennie Ashworth and her husband Bobby of Camden, Arkansas; brothers, Oscar Allen of Pinebluff, Arkansas, and James Allen of Vicksburg, Mississippi; also several nieces and nephews.
