Blanche Menard, 92, of Port Arthur passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Robin’s Nest Nursing Facility in Groves.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Groves with Rev. Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2007 with a Rosary to be recited at 6 pm at the mortuary.
Mrs. Menard was a homemaker and a member of the altar society at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Port Arthur. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge # 228 and VFW Auxillary in Port Arthur. She will be remembered as an excellent seamstress and cook.
Mrs. Menard is survived by her daughters, Rita Jan Beaty and her husband Allen of Port Neches and Betty Tweedel McFatter of Groves; four grandchildren, Chris Beaty and his wife Anne of Omaha, Nebraska, Kim Tweedel of Houston, Jimmy Tweedel II and his wife Suzie of Port Arthur and Michael Tweedel of Groves.She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Faye Bordelon of Port Arthur and her nephew, Buddy Manceaux and his wife Molly of Groves.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Menard, her parents, Arthius and Ematile Manceaux, her grandson Steve Beaty and her brother Euille Manceaux.
