Alice Miller Allen, 83, of Lumberton died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
She was a retired registered nurse with St. Elizabeth Hospital. Alice was very active in her church where she was referred to by many of her friends as “The Mother” of Infant Jesus Catholic Church.
Alice is survived by her children, Margaret A. Rivero and husband Frank of Leander, Texas, Thomas Posey Allen, Jr. and wife Kristine of Houston, and Patricia A. Etue and husband Howard, Jr. of Evadale; grandchildren, Paula Marie Speich and husband Mark of Cedar Park, Bruce Cassidy and wife Kristin of Houston, Shuree Etue Martin of Lumberton, Beth Dickerson and husband Matt of Fort Worth, Sara McEndree of Lubbock, and Adam McEndree of Denton; great grandchildren, Haley Jean Speich and Parker Allen Speich; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law, and special friends at Infant Jesus Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Lillian Miller; husband, Thomas Posey Allen, Sr.; and sister, Sister Chrysostom “Aunine” Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the mortuary with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M.
