Kenneth Warren Livingston, 63, died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at his residence. Kenneth was born in Lufkin, Texas on June 10, 1944 to J.W. and Winnie (Wilkerson) Livingston. The family moved to Beaumont when Kenneth was in elementary school. He attended Juncker Elementary, David Crockett Junior High, and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1963. On June 1, 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Anne “Dee” Hogue.

Kenneth was employed in the trucking business for twenty-five years until his retirement in 1977 as owner of KenCo Enterprises. His life reflected his many interest and hobbies. As a young man, he and Dee enjoyed trail riding, which, after their daughters were born, became a family event. During his career as a long haul truck driver, he enjoyed seeing the country and the friends he made along the way. Kenneth was always tinkering with his trucks and farm equipment and could almost anything mechanical. He was blessed with musical talents and enjoyed playing both guitar and organ and was a huge fan of Merle Haggard. In his later years, after his retirement, he enjoyed hand carving custom pistol grips and tending to his small herd of goats and calves. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family. Kenneth was a loving “John Wayne” type of father whose mission was to protect and care for his family. After raising three daughters who were his “tomboys”, he was delighted to have three grandsons and watched with extreme pride as they grew into young men.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Dee of Kountze; daughters, Kathryn Lorraine “Kit” Fea of Kountze, Karen Leigh Carrico and husband James of Round Rock, and Kelly Lynn Ford and husband Mike of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Rex Wendell Livingston and wife Beverlon of Lufkin; sister, Wava Lawanda Harrelson of Nederland; grandsons, Kenneth Michael Ford and David Christopher Gasch of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Kenneth Charles “Casey” Fea of Kountze; and step-granddaughters, Christie Nixon of Silsbee and Gabrielle “Gabby” Rose of Buna.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Tony Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, November 9, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

Kenneth will be missed and remembered by many good friends and loved ones.

Dee, I am so sorry to hear about your lost. The obit really sounds like you'all had a good life and that's very important. I know you will miss him and I'm sorry that I never got to meet him. I moved back to Texas 8 months ago after being away for 46 years and once I get everything unpacked and settled, I will come to Beaumont to visit after all these years. I would like to see you too. God bless you and your family. He will be with you forever. Lynda McDonie Corbitt
