Huey Wilmer Sandell, 83, of Beaumont, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Hornbeck, Louisiana and resident of Beaumont since 1946, Mr. Sandell was a retired heavy equipment operator with Local Union #450.
His daughter, Michael Sue Sandell Smart preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Mary Cox Sandell of Beaumont; sons, Jerry Sandell and his wife Liz of Beaumont and Randy Sandell and his wife Charlette of Spring; daughter, Sandra Jessen and her husband Ricky of Sherman; eight grandchildren, Don Sandell of Port Arthur, LeDona Claflin of Boerne, Britney Meckfessel of The Woodlands, Lexie Mouton of Beaumont, Craig Sandell of Spring, Brandi, Stephanie and Staci Jessen all of College Station; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Troy Sandell of Hornbeck, Louisiana, Chris Sandell of Florien, Louisiana and Talmedge Sandell of Houston; and sisters, Floy Jordan of Florien, Louisiana, Una Lea Savell of Port Arthur, Lela Mae Evans of Florien, Louisiana and Veral Hutchison of Willis, Texas.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Mortuary.
