Betty Thomas Thornton, 82, of Sour Lake died Thursday, November 1, 2007.
A native of Louisiana and resident of Southeast Texas for most of her life, Betty was a retired Lab Tech at Rogers Brothers.
She is survived by her son, George Welch and his wife Vila of Corpus Christi; daughters, Patti Wells of Beaumont, Nancy Payne and her husband Russell of Hallsville, Texas; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Dot Whitman of Port Neches; two nephews; and three nieces. Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Margie Thornton-Smith; and sisters, Louise McCalla and Edna Dixon.
A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Saturday at the mortuary.
