Well, here goes.. You have been gone for over 6 months now and I still pick up the phone to call you. When I was shopping for the deer camp this year, I picked up your favorite snacks. On my birthday I waited for you to call and sing some crazy version of Happy Birthday, but you never called. It seems like I realize you're gone over and over. Sometimes I laugh, thinking that you are laughing at me for doing those crazy things, but most of the time... I cry. Because I just miss you so much. We all do. Jayda talks about you all the time. Wanting to know what you are doing in "hebin"and I think Gary misses you as much as I do. A friend of mine lost her dad a few months ago and she asked me if it got easier. I just blurted out "no, not at all". I could have easily said "yes" to ease her mind, but I couldn't lie. The fact is, that after you make it through "the passing" and then you survive "the funeral", the real pain starts. "The missing". You can't prepare for "the missing." You can prepare yourself for the passing, you can pre-arrange a funeral, but nothing in this world prepares you for the missing part. It is the worst thing in the world. There is nothing that can comfort you except memories. I have lots of memories. I thank God that I had time with Daddy the last year of his life to make some great memories, like the ZZ Top concert, fishing trips, birthday parties and the deer camp. One of my fondest is dancing with daddy at my wedding, but the greatest of all was being with daddy as he left this world. It was the hardest, most uncomfortable yet the easiest, most natural thing I have ever done. Telling him it was okay to leave us, that he had done good here and that we would be okay and yet wanting him to stay so bad. I know you are here with us. (I used to think people were nuts when they would say stuff like that.) But I know you are. I think that's why I don't think twice to pick up the phone to call you, or expect you to be at the camp.. because you are here. And that helps the "missing" part. I love you, Daddy! You were the 'Life of the Party! Love, Sister

To My Uncle Allen, I miss you soooo very much! I really do not even know where to begin with this message. All I know is that I love you so much and I am so thankful for the passed few years that my family and I got to spend with you. I always told Ty that growing up I didn't get to be around you very much but you always had a smile and a hug for me when I was around. I also told him that you always made me feel like I was loved by you and it never mattered what I did you was there for me if I needed you. Ty finally got to see what I was talking about when we moved here in 2003. He really grew to love you also. We all loved going to church with you and learning about God together. The girls often talk about VBS and you singing. They loved standing next to you in church because of your singing. My girls thought you hung the moon, and who could blame them you were always so good to them. Heck you were that way to everyone. I know I speak for many people when I say you were truly an amazing person. (In more ways than one!) You touched so many of our lives in so many diffrent ways and we all recieved a blessing from it. I know the night that you left us to go be with God, I told Brandon I was angry not at you but at the fact I felt cheated...I did not get to know you and grow up with you being apart of my life. But I am getting better at dealing with it because I am learning to be thankful for the time I did have at the end. I am also learning that my time with you is not over it is just on hold until I meet you in Heaven! So until I meet you there remember I am here loving and missing you! With All My Love, Candy
