Albert “Junie” Ebow, Jr., 72, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
Mr. Ebow was born December 16, 1934 to Albert Ebow and Fabiola Francois Ebow in Parks, Louisiana. He joined the Air Force and became a Tech Sergeant in the fifties. Later he met and married Anne Marie Malbrough of Beaumont, Texas on April 12, 1958. To this union one child arrived, Alana Marie.
All of his family knew him as “Junie” from the old to the young. Al as he was affectionately called by his wife was a self made man who loved the outdoors gardening, traveling with his friends and family, cooking and cutting a rug. Poker was his game. He could do anything, talk about anything, just plain TALK.
Mr. Ebow was involved in the community with meals on wheels, Pear Orchard Association, church ministry, American Legion and the hospitality committee for Bishop Guillory’s Installation. He worked and retired from Pacific Gas and Electric after thirty years where he was superintendent of materials in San Francisco, California. He loved his PG&E.
His parents, Albert Ebow, Sr. and Fabiola Ebow; and mother-in-law, Rita Malbrough preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Anne Marie Ebow; daughter, Alana Marie Ebow; and sisters, Mae Attrice Jones and Marie Wiltz all of Beaumont.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with cremation to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium. A gathering of family and friends will be from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary recited at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church.
If Albert Ebow, Jr., was asked to write this obituary he would merely smile and say, “Let the work that I’ve done speak for me.”
