Barbara Canady died peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2007. She was born in Oakland, California on September 19, 1925 and after graduating from the University of California at Berkley, she became a social worker. She lived and worked in the Bay Area for most of her life. She loved California and had many life long friends there who still keep in touch.
We owe such incredible thanks to the many caretakers who loved her and took such gentle care of her while she was here in Texas at the end of her life.
Barbara leaves her grandchildren, Christine Canady of Santa Rosa, California; her grandson, Daniel Sory of Sour Lake, Texas; her soon-to-be newly adopted third grandchild of Bend, Oregon; daughter, Lynn Sory of Sour Lake; and son, Brian Canady of Bend, Oregon.
Memorial service will be 5:30 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2007 at the residence of Lynn and Kernan Sory in Sour Lake.
