Although many called him Uncle Mikey. I am blessed by the fact that he actually was my uncle. Though he was not perfect in all aspects, he had a genuinely good heart and soul. I never met a single person who didn't have something nice to say about him. My only regret is not being able to visit him as much as I could when he was here. I miss him almost on a daily basis. I love him more than I could explain. Even though this entry is late, I mean every word of it. He touched the hearts of every one he met. I love you uncle mikey. I know somewhere up in heaven you're are watching over me right now.
Love your niece,
Anne Ferry

It seems like yesterday Mike was letting a group of us kids drive his Toyota around Sunnyside. We knew we could sucker him everytime! I was sad to hear that Mike was sick but I know now he is no longer suffering. Our prayers are with the Cherry family.

Oh My! It has been over 30 years since I have seen him, and then he as a kid like me! I can't say how sorry I am to hear about the death of Mike, but in shock at the same time... I remember his mom making some Toll House cookies one day and every time as I got older and wanted the Toll House cookies, I thought of Mike and his mom! My memory does not always serve me right since a couple of strokes, but Mike still looked the same as he did on 1970's... I was raised in the area where is lived off 23rd street, and I married someone on Rosine in 1975 (still was a kid myself), but I had this crush on him, and I think likewise... Skating at Manning's riding my bike over there and him riding his bike over to my home...OOPS! Now no one was supposed to know that, my daddy would have had my behind had he knew and likewise with him. Again, I don't know how he passed away, but he is one for sure that he will put up a smile on everyone's face in Heaven with the red hair and smile... He is not only in the arms of our Lord, but he is in his own fathers arms again! I pray that as each day goes by it will be a bit easier, but to know he is always SMILING down at you.. GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY!
