Lena Mae Moore, 94, of Nederland, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007 at a private health care facility in Groves.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Carl Durden officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Moore was a native of Bolivar County, Mississippi and lived in Nederland since 1954. She received a Master’s of Education degree from Duke University and taught elementary school children until becoming a full time homemaker. Mrs. Moore was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Nederland where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Slivertone Choir.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton W. Moore. She was survived by her son, Danny Moore and his wife Dot of Nederland, and her granddaughter, Leah Vara and her husband Manny also of Nederland.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Silverton Choir at the First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Ave., Nederland, Texas.
