Sadie Budwine, 89, of Port Neches, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Senior Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Arthur.
Sadie was born on Christmas Day in 1917 to George and Catherine Dassie. She was a retired registered nurse having worked at several local hospitals through the years. An avid bridge player, Sadie became a Life Master in 1993.
She loved the beach when visiting Gilchrist; you could find her at “The Cut” (Rollover Pass). Sadie would spend hours there fishing and visiting with all the other fishermen, but she could be counted on for a good string of fish most of the time.
During her lifetime, Sadie was fortunate to have traveled the world. She was a devout catholic, serving her church until her health failed her.
Her husband, Clarence (T.T.) Budwine; son-in-law, James Pitre; and granddaughter-in-law, Tammie Pitre preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Michael Budwine; daughter, Mary Pitre; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ryan and Erin Budwine, Michael Pitre, Tricia Bryant and her husband Russell, and Joey Pitre; great grandchildren, Vonnie and Zack Pitre, and Domonic Bryant; sister, Mary Shumaker; nieces, Sheila Stevens, and Anne Shumaker; great nephews, Thad and Josh Stevens; and a host of extended family and friends.
