Edward Joseph Simon, 84 of Winnie, died September 4, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Simon was a retired farmer and Army veteran of World War II. He loved his family, anything Cajun, dancing, playing the guitar and his horse “Grace”.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 135 W. Buccaneer Drive, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM at the mortuary.
Mr. Simon is survived by his sons, Edwin James Simon and his wife, Janice of CO., Earl Richard Simon of CA., Edward Joseph Simon, Jr. and his wife, Candy of Arlington; daughters, Denise Dillard and her husband, Fred of Kempner, Deborah Green of CA., Delilah Gabriel of N. C., Dena Simon and Kandi Hart both of Winnie; sister, Lorena Harrington of Dayton and twenty-four grandchildren.
