Ethel McCauley Pontiff, was born August 10, 1923 in New Hope Community, TX and died August 20, 2007 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.
A memorial service will be 10 am Friday, August 24, 2007 at Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, 6-8 pm at the mortuary.
She is survived by one daughter Brenda Ewing and her husband Fred of Atlanta, Georgia, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Robert Earl McCauley (Buster), and many nieces and nephews.
Ethel moved to Beaumont in the 1940’s and worked as a checker at A&P grocery store until she retired in 1970. She was a widow of C.G. Pontiff Jr. She had 84 years of love by her family and friends and lived a very social and outgoing life. She will always be remembered with a smile on her face and the life of the party. Many thanks go out to Pine Arbor Nursing Home staff for the care and love they gave her for four years and all the staff at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont for their care and family support.
