Verda Hooker Dean, 102, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Community Retirement Home in Port Arthur, Texas.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2007 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont with Reverend Matt Thomas officiating under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland.
Mrs. Dean was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She loved to cook, sew and being in the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husband W.T. Dean and grandson, Tommy Enright.
Mrs. Dean is survived by her daughter, Carol Enright of Groves; son, Marshal Dean and wife Bobbye of Fannett; special cousin, Linda Thompson and husband Tommy of Beaumont; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Verda Hooker Dean’s name to The Community Retirement Home, 3141 Proctor Port Arthur, TX. 77642
