Coye Sutton, 77, of Honey Island, died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont after a lengthy illness. Coye was born in Honey Island on April 12, 1930 to Dan and Cloann (Nickelbur) Sutton. He was a local farmer and a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Honey Island.
Coye is survived by his brother, P. D. Sutton of Honey Island; sister, Florence Dunlap of Honey Island; nephews, Jerry Kelley and Ernest Dunlap both of Houston; nieces, Elvia Courts of Kountze, Deborah Sutton Morse of Lake Jackson, Kathy Sutton of Dallas, Elaine Sutton and Susan Sutton Freeman both of Honey Island; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Mel Rowell officiating. Burial will follow at Sutton Cemetery in Honey Island. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, July 27, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
