Omar Phillips, 81, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont.
A lifelong resident of Beaumont, Omar was a retired welder with Mobil Oil. He served as a United States Navy veteran during World War II.
Omar is survived by his daughter, Beverly Babin and husband Kenny of Bevil Oaks; son, Blake Phillips and wife Ninette of Port Neches; grandchildren, Daina Babin, Dustin Babin, Tracy Phillips, and Steven Phillips; sisters, Sarah Stark and her husband G.R. and Helen English and her husband Al; and brother, Bill Phillips and his wife Toots.
A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007 at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the mortuary.
