Gary Woods, 56 of Nederland, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at his residence. A native of Springfield, Illinois, Mr. Woods had resided in Nederland for the last 27 years.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the mortuary. Mr. Woods was a warehouse technician for the Overhead Door Company in Beaumont. He was very active in the Beaumont Community Players and an avid NASCAR fan. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s baseball games.
Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Dianne Woods of Nederland, his children, Brady Lynn Woods and his wife Lisa of Groves, Stephanie Woods of Nederland, Toby Woods and his wife Naomi of Nederland, Courtney Woods and her husband Kent of Nederland, and Darcy Stewart and her husband Steven of Nederland. Mr. Woods is also survived by his mother, Catherine Woods of Springfield, Illinois and his brother, Norman Woods also of Springfield, Illinois. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, Jacob and Hailey Woods, Ashley Woods and Anthony Hammond, Chastity Jeffcoat, Hayden Woods, Jace Woods, Courtlyn Woods, Calah Ward, Connor Ward, Carly Ward, Tyler Woods, Beau Stewart, Taylor Stewart, Justin and Tyler Schofield, and Chelsea and Kaci Frasier. Mr. Woods is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceeded in death by his father, Harold and his brother, Brian.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Gary Lynn Woods name to Beaumont Community Players 5515 Phelps Rd. Beaumont, TX. 77705.
