Eugene Haney, 84, of Sour Lake, died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Hermann Memorial Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A native of Dallas, Eugene lived most of his life in the Beaumont area and was a retired pipe fitter for Bethlehem Steel. He also served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
Eugene is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Doris Haney; son, Sam Haney both of Sour Lake; daughter, Doris Jean Sheffield of Kountze; four grandchildren, Caran Renee Coward, Stacie Leigh Sheffield, Shane Haney, and Chase Haney; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will begin 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2007 at the mortuary.
