Michael Dewayne Dolan, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, age 56, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2007.

Dewayne was a native of Mississippi and was born on June 17, 1950 in Greenwood. A graduate of Ocean Springs High School, he attended Southern Mississippi University and Lamar University where he studied history and English. A member of New Life Tabernacle, Dewayne was a proud United States Army veteran where he served in the Vietnam War with the 101st Airborne Division.

He is survived by his daughter, Kari Dolan Fenner and her husband Gavin of Beaumont; granddaughter, Isabella Rose; grandson, Devin; sister, Diane Archibald of Vidor; sister, Donna Sammon and her husband Pat of Colquitt, Georgia; brother, Keith Dolan and his wife Gayla of Colquitt, Georgia; brother, Darren Dolan and his wife Wendy of Jesup, Georgia; sister, Michele Martin and her husband Marty of Spring; sister, Mary Beth Dolan of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sister, Melinda Dolan of Lake Arthur, Louisiana; former spouse and friend, Sandy Stone and her husband Shel of Lumberton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Dolan; mother, Bobbie Taylor; beloved grandmother, Laverne Brantley; and cousin and friend, Timmy Dolan.

Dewayne had an outgoing personality and was always the life of the party. He deeply loved his family and friends and was thrilled to become a “Grandpa” last fall. His greatest passions were reading, history, and the Dallas Cowboys. While he is profoundly missed by those who love him here on Earth, it is our comfort and prayer that he is surrounded by those who have gone before him and who greeted him with open arms into God’s presence and a place of rest.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at New Life Tabernacle under the direction of Reverend L. Charles Treadway with burial to follow at Del-Rose Cemetery in Vidor.

I can't believe it has been almost 5 years since I lost you. I miss you more than ever. Bella is amazing and no one would love her more than you. She takes after you in so many ways.....candy hoarder, scary movies,......and she always asks me "Did Grandpa Dewayne" like this or that because she wants to do it if you liked it. Please watch us from Heaven because we need it. Love you forever....

Kari, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know how difficult this is. I lost my Dad last July. The many wonderful memories you have will bring you comfort. Sincerely, Mildred
