Roxie Beth Madding, 54, of Vidor passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont after a sudden illness. Roxie was born in Port Arthur on December 13, 1952 to Joseph Anthony and Betsy Marie (Romano) Minaldi. She grew up in the Mid-County area and had lived in Vidor for the past 21 years. Roxie touched the lives of many children through her 31 years of teaching. She taught in Hamshire-Fannett I.S.D., Spring Branch I.S.D., Liberty I.S.D., Liberty Christian Academy and the past 21 years in Vidor I.S.D. at Oak Forest Elementary. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and often attended St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. Roxie was always there for others. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, always putting the needs of others before those of herself. She had many, many friends and was especially fond of her “sisters.”
Roxie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Minaldi and her brother, Randy Minaldi. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Rob Madding of Vidor; her daughters, Lindsey Nicole Gray and her husband Justin of Lumberton, Lauren Elizabeth Madding of Vidor; her mother, Betsy Minaldi of Nederland; her brothers, Larry Minaldi and wife Carleen of Nederland, David Minaldi and wife Carolyn of Plano and Bobby Minaldi of Nederland. Roxie was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 30, 2007 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with burial following at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Scriptural Rosary service to be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Roxie’s name to Vidor Schools Foundation, 120 East Bolivar Vidor, Texas 77662 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation 6350 North Andrews Avenue Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309.
