Julie Anne Weldon Beckert was born July 24, 1970 in Columbia, Missouri. She graduated from Oakville Senior High in St. Louis and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2002 from Columbia College. She moved to Beaumont
in July 2004 with her fiancé Dr. Ben Beckert and they married on July 22, 2006.
She was Patient Coordinator of Research in the trauma division of General Surgery at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Since her move to Beaumont, she has been the Patient Coordinator at Beaumont Plastic Surgery Associates.
Julie was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving sister, caring friend and "Little Mama" to Molly and Leah. Though she had only lived in Texas for a few years she considered Beaumont her home and she made numerous dear friends here. She passed away on April 14, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Diana Perkins; and her father, Pablin Vitela. She is survived by her husband, Ben Beckert; her sister, Natalie Weldon; her grandmother, Iris Robinson; two aunts; one uncle; and five cousins.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2007 at First United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the mortuary. Additional services will be held in Julie’s hometown 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 1217 Highway 40 West, Columbia, Missouri. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Missouri.
