DANIEL JONES, SR.
Daniel Jones, Sr., was born on December 8, 1946 to the late Stewart and Lucille Jones in China, TX.
Daniel resided in Stowell, TX. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Stowell. He was employed for twenty-five years with Chevron Phillips in Port Arthur, TX. until his health failed him. Daniel left his earthly home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lura Nell Jones and two brothers, Stewart Jones and James Jones.
Daniel is survived by his loving and devoted wife, JoAnn Jones of Stowell/Winnie, TX.; five sons, Daniel Jones, Jr. (Laura), Frederick Jones (Jennifer), Carl A. Jones (Glinda), Bobby R. Jones (Amanda), Eric Miller (Toya) all of Beaumont, TX.; two daughters, Trinell Smith (Jerry), Erica Miller all of Port Arthur, TX.; three sisters, Ida Deshotel (Buster) of Cheek, TX., Mary Alice Jones of China, TX., Velma Young of Beaumont, TX.; four brothers, M. C. Jones (JoAnn) of China, TX., Curtis Jones of Cheek, TX., Ezekiel Jones (Katherine) of Stowell, TX., Melvin Jones (Sammie) of Texarkana, TX.; twenty-one grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 303 First Street in Stowell with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s 134 W. Buccaneer Dr. in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
