Cedona, “Sid”, Blankenship Odell passed away at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas on Thursday, April 5, 2007. She was born Cedona Francis Weese on December 14, 1923 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She lived in Arlington, Texas for the majority of her life and moved to Lubbock, Texas to be with her daughter, Linda Kamp. After her daughter’s passing, she briefly lived in Beaumont and Evansville, Indiana, before returning to Beaumont in recent months to be closer to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchild.
She is survived by her sister Mary Auman of Terre Haute, Indiana; her grandchildren Shannon Knabeschuh and husband Louis of Beaumont; Michael Doyle and wife Briana of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren Matthew Travis and wife Stephanie of Beaumont, Heather Doyle of Laguna Hills, California, Kevin Doyle of La Mesa, California, David and Crystal Knabeschuh of Beaumont, Mackenzie Doyle of Austin, and great, great grandchild Tyler Travis of Beaumont, in addition to several nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private interment will be held at Moore Cemetery in Arlington, Texas as she is laid to rest next to her late husband Howard Blankenship.
