Ann Smith Ihle, 79, of Liberty died March 22, 2007 at Memorial Hermann Baptist- Beaumont Hospital. Ann was born July 20, 1927 in Cork City, Ireland and was a former resident of Lumberton before moving to Liberty twelve years ago. She was a retired custodian for Lumberton Independent School District and also enjoyed doing cooking demonstrations at Wal-Mart in Liberty. She attended Heights Baptist Church in Liberty and Center Baptist Church in Thicket.
She is survived by her children, Linda Surratt and husband Melvin of Thicket, Elaine Araujo and husband Alfred of Liberty, and Billy Smith and wife Wanda also of Thicket; four grandchildren, Crystal Smith, Tony Smith, Anne Marie Araujo, and John William Smith; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 26, 2007 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Wade McKinney and Reverend Jim Simpkins officiating followed by burial at Felps Cemetery in Thicket. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, March 25, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
