Frances Elizabeth Streater, a longtime Beaumont resident, died peacefully in her home on March 15, 2007 at the age of 95.
She was born on March 9, 1912, in Richmond, Michigan. She graduated from the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois, and then moved to Beaumont to marry Donald Streater.

They were charter members of Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church, and both stayed active in many facets of church involvement throughout their lives. She also served on the Board of Directors of Sabine Oaks Nursing Home for many years. Her college degree in early childhood education led her to write children's stories, one of which was published in the United States and in Australia and is still used today in several textbooks.

She is survived by son, Allen Streater and his wife Erin of Fort Worth; daughter, Gail Nobles of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Keith Nobles and his wife Penny, Conner Nobles, Roger Streater and his wife Kristen, Laura Riehm and her husband, Richard, John Streater and his wife Gail; and five great-grandchildren.
