I was "Acting PD" at KZOM in Orange, Texas when Bill was hired as the PD. He came in, gave the station real focus. When I had promotional ideas, he encouraged me to explore them, and backed them when they were right for the station. I remember setting up a station booth at the Southeast Texas State Fair and getting to report live from the Texas Jam at the Astrodome. But what I remember most was Bill's laugh. It was pretty hard to be down around him.

Thanks Bill. Thanks for taking me in. Thanks for the wild stories, the high drama, the Christmas parties, the morning kolaches, and the many new opportunities. Thanks for Rapport and stopping by. Thanks for the decent wage, for trusting the work, for opinionated thoughts, for your melodious voice and raucous laugh. Hello, we had some great days at Cornerstone Media didn’t we? Thanks for that too.
