June Rose Daniel, 82, of Kountze passed away on Friday, February 23, 2007 at her daughter’s home in San Antonio. A native of Beaumont she had lived in Kountze for many years. June was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and will be missed dearly by family and friends. June was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Chili” Daniel. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Daniel Friesenhahn and her husband Vernon of San Antonio; her brothers, Larry Smith and his wife Kathy of Lumberton, George Smith and his wife Saundra of Nederland; her sisters, Hattie Alemore of Voth, Lela Johnson and her husband Eudean of Conroe, Emma Lofton and her husband Carl of Conroe; grandchildren, Joseph Friesenhahn and Jessica Lombardi; nephews, Michael Smith and Lance Smith; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services for June will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church of Kountze with Reverend Tony Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
June was a very active member of the Hardin County Child Protective Services organization and was always available to lend a hand when needed. In honor of her service the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in June’s name to Hardin County CPS Board, P. O. Box 1797 Kountze, Texas 77625.
