Rissie Irene Self, 79, of Saratoga was born January 7, 1928 to Eddie and Julia (Jordan) Bishop. She passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2007 in Winnie.
Rissie was a lifetime resident of Saratoga and the former owner of The Video Hut. She was a faithful member of West End Baptist Church in Saratoga
She is survived by her son, Don and his wife Bonnie of Winnie; brothers, E.J. Bishop of Saratoga and Charles Bishop of Hardin; grandson, Donnie Self and his wife Lacey; great-grandchildren, Hallie and Falon Self; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two “babies” Mugsy and Butch.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, with Reverend Bill Campbell officiating followed by burial at Oilfield Cemetery in Saratoga. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, February 17, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
