Michael James Kea — In Loving Memory

Michael James Kea, 55, of Nederland entered into eternal glory on Friday, January 26, 2007. He was interred at Oak Bluff Memorial Park following a private funeral service.

A lifelong resident of Nederland, Mr. Kea was born in Port Arthur on April 28, 1951.

Preceding him in death is his father Morris O. Kea.

He is survived by his mother Mrs. M.O. Kea of Nederland; sisters Betty Ward and Shirley Stagg, both of Nederland, and Karol Ann Sanford of Panama City, Florida; cousin Thomas Downey of Lufkin; two aunts, one uncle, six nephews, three nieces, and several other cousins and family members.

My brother fought a long and hard battle. I never knew how hard a person's life could be when suffering from a stroke. He went from doing ordinary things like anyone else, to not being able to walk or talk plainly. On many occasions he would tell me that he was not happy being the way he was and wanted to go Home! Well, he did just that....he went Home. Mike suffered a stroke during Hurricane Rita and never recovered. He is already missed by his mother and his sisters as well. Our thanks to all the family and friends who supported us this past year and through his death as well. Special thanks to our cousin Thomas in Lufkin who helped mom and Mike so much when the stroke happened. Thomas, you are more like a brother to us than a cousin! Mike loved all of you very much and so do we.
