CAROLYN LARIE YARBROUGH ALLEN
Carolyn Larie Yarbrough Allen, 58, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at her home in Gadsden, Alabama. Carolyn was a long-time resident of Winnie until the death of her husband in 2004 when she moved to Alabama to be closer to her mother. Carolyn was proudest of two things, the fact that she raised three children basically on her own working three jobs at times to “keep a roof over their heads and food on the table”. And the fact that she returned to school at forty to become a hair dresser. She loved her shop in Winnie and met many people who remained her friends even after she close her shop.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Allen, Sr., her father, Raymond Yarbrough, her oldest sister, Shirley Mason and her two oldest brothers, Ralph Yarbrough and Michael Yarbrough.
She is survived b y her mother Roxie Yarbrough of Gadsden, AL.; her children, Tammy Leger and her husband, David of Hamshire, Michelle Hoyt and her husband, Roy “Butch” of Baytown, Kenneth Allen, Jr., and his wife, Jamie of Winnie, Lena Bishop and Timothy Allen of Chunchula, AL; grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew, Jennifer, Jake, Micah, Kris, Stephany, Keaton, Miaja, Timmy, Krissy, Jeremy, Korrina, and due in March….Kenley and Jonah; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Destiney and due to be born in July...baby Perry; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and special friends, Elisabeth Clement and Laura Stebly.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Broussard’s 134 W. Buccaneer Dr. in Winnie with visitation beginning at noon at the funeral home. Cremation will follow at Broussard’s Crematorium.
