Frances Norris (Mom) Weber, 85, died Friday, January 26, 2007 at her home in Beaumont, Texas surrounded by friends and family.

Frances, daughter of Mabel and John Patton, was born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 8, 1921. She was adopted by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Norris and moved to Beaumont at the age of 6.

Frances attended Beaumont Public Schools and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1939. She married Arthur R. Weber in 1940 and had three children. She became a talented seamstress and floral designer and above all, an exceptional Mom. Frances threw herself into whatever her children decided they wanted to pursue – whether it was dance, fraternity activities, or choral activities – and whatever it required of her – she did it. Frances was “Mom” to her children and to their families, their friends and even their acquaintances. Frances was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and an active member of the Beaumont High School’s Class of 1939 Alumni.

She is survived by her three children, Herman R. Weber and wife Lori, of Pasadena, Texas, Charles A. (Buddy) Weber and wife Fran of Beaumont, Mary H. Shannon and Jimmy Shannon of Lake Jackson, Texas. She also leaves behind her beloved grandsons, Aaron C. Weber and wife Reneé of Houston, Colin J. Shannon of Houston and Zeke R. Weber of Beaumont; granddaughter, Anne O’Donnell Davis and husband Gerard of Newton, New Hampshire; and four great grandchildren, Jared Weber, Nathan Weber, Christian Smith Weber and B. J. Noble.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and her husbands, Arthur R. Weber and Corrie C. Hancock.

Frances will be greatly missed by her loving companion, Howard Riley and his children, her step-children, Elizabeth Hancock and C. V. Hancock; and by life-long friends and newer ones whose lives will be emptier with her passing.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. Aaron Weber, Colin Shannon, Zeke Weber, Larry Harris, Monty Cook, Don Hansen and Scott Riley will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary

Pallbearers will be the Alumnus of Beaumont High’s Class of 1939. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Mortuary.

Her family would like to take this opportunity to thank Howard Riley for his loving care of Frances, and to thank the Texas Hospice Group for making it possible for Frances to spend her last days at home.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5144, Beaumont, Texas 77726; Beaumont’s Julie Rogers Cancer Center, 3555 Stagg Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77701 or Hospice of Texas, 3843 Stagg Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77701 in memory of our Mom.
