Myron W. Stock, 66, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
A native of Manheim, New York and resident of Beaumont since 1980, Myron a former firefighter and E.M.T. from 1966-1979 in Little Falls, New York and a volunteer firefighter from 1960-1966 in Middleville, New York. Being a fireman was the job he loved most in his life. He also loved helping others as people had done for he and his family while growing up very poor. He always told a story of how a man had purchased his Cub Scout uniform when he was a boy because they were too poor to buy one and that meant the world to him. When he was older during the 1980’s he volunteered locally with the American Red Cross Disaster Team, Beaumont Chapter, and was even Volunteer of the Year one year for his services.
Survivors include his wife, Terri LaRousse Stock of Beaumont; children, Eric William Stock of Copperas Cove, Texas, Elizabeth Margaret Stock of Beaumont, Myron “Mike” Stock, Jr. and Scott Stock both of New York; grandchildren, Hannah Stock and Logan Stock both of Copperas Cove; brother, Eugene Stock and his wife Carol of Newport, New York; sister, Pat Daley and her husband Tim of Schenectady, New York; nieces, Mary Jane Cool of Schenectady, New York; Stephanie Stock and Lorie Brauer; all of New York; step children, Bob Gressler of Barnum and Mary Jo Kersey of Copperas Cove, Texas.
His niece, Linda Cool; parents, Myron Davis Stock and Margaret Elizabeth Whitney Stock; and stepson, Tom Gressler preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the Mortuary. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s.
