Pearl Rebecca Willey returned peacefully to the arms of the Lord on Saturday afternoon, May 8, 2004 surrounded by those who love her.
Pearl was born on April 2, 1923 in Darby, Pennsylvania and graduated from Darby High School. She served as a proud member of the United States Army during the Second World War. Sergeant Pearl Leibbrandt worked also as a cryptographic technician on a top-secret project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Preceding her in death were her first husband Paul Forrest George, her husband, Jimmie Lee Willey and her son, William George.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Murphy and her husband, Bobby; son, Charlie George and his fiancée’, Sandra Medina; and her grandchildren, Katie George, Katie Murphy, Jessica George and Peter George.
Pearl was loved by all those who knew her. She was a member of Shepherd United Methodist Church in Shepherd, Texas and also attended Woodcrest United Methodist Church in Lumberton, Texas. Pearl worked for both Fluor and M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed her retirement years in the communities of Shepherd and Cold Spring, Texas.
Pearl is remembered by all who knew her for her generosity with hugs, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing cards and dominoes, Monday night goulash, and a caring heart and loving disposition.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, May 11, at Shepherd United Methodist Church.
