Patricia “Pat” Thompson, 70, of Beaumont, Texas, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at Westgate Church of Christ, 6390 Westgate, Beaumont, Texas. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Mortuary.

Pat was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Clyde and Alta Embry and resided in Beaumont for many years. As her family moved to new communities, Pat always became active in numerous outreach and volunteer programs such as Meals on Wheels and Hospital Auxiliary. She was a faithful member of the Westgate Church of Christ, and will be remembered by many for her love of people and her service to the Lord. Her family will remember her as wife, mother, grandmother and one who truly loved her Lord. She was a minister to those in need, be it spiritually, monetarily or by inviting them into her home to live. Countless people have been touched and led to the Lord by Pat’s outward and visible testament. All who knew her were enhanced by her life and will be diminished by her passing.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bob Thompson of Beaumont, Texas; son, John Thompson and wife Laura of Lumberton, Texas; daughter, Jill Herrera and husband Oscar of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Caleb Herrera, Chloe Herrera, Ethan Herrera, Jessica Thompson, Madison Thompson and Grace Thompson; two sisters, Judy Forrester of Smithville, Tennessee and Barbara Meredith of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Her family was blessed by her life and her legacy will be felt for generations to come.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Westgate Church of Christ Mission Fund, 6390 Westgate, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
