U.E. “Gene” Menard 88 of Nederland passed away Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 21, 2006 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be 5 -8 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7PM at the mortuary.
Mr. Menard was a native of Vermillion Parish, Louisiana and lived in the Nederland area for fifty-eight years. He was an operator with Union 76 and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. He was in the United States Coast Guard during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Menard of Nederland; two daughters, Patricia Dugas and her husband Marcus of Brookeland, Deborah Mobley of LaPorte; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Theriot of Henry, La, Irene Hubal of Henry, La.; brother, Sterling Menard of Abbeville, La; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
