Josie Guarnere Bauer, 87, lifelong resident of Beaumont died November 12, 2006. She loved her children…no one could doubt, and her daughters loved her as well. Where they went, she went. As she would say, “Her heart was full of her children, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren. She also had a very close relationship with her loving sisters and special friend Virginia Broach.
Willie, Josie’s late husband, was police chief of Beaumont for twenty-three years, and she was his First Lady. He would always refer to his wife and daughters and himself as the “four queens and a king.” We’ve lost our chief queen and you will always live in our hearts.
Josie is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Allen and her husband Bill of Nederland, and Janie Horton and Ruthie Basil, and her husband Steve all of Beaumont; sisters, Bessie Rossi of Beaumont and Mary Jane Mirabella of Bridge City; eight grandchildren, Jay Allen and his wife Theresa, Sherry Gabourel and her husband Bruce, Jana McFarland, Kent Allen and his wife Katie, Jeffrey Bauer Horton, Gregory Dallas Horton and his wife Nicole, Steve Basil and his wife Kim, and Brady Basil and his wife Lisa; ten great grandchildren, Danny Allen, David Allen, Jason Allen, Aaron McFarland, Colton Wiesbrod, Jack Basil, Irie Horton, Laurel Burns, Landry Basil, and Luke Basil; and two great great grandchildren, Lacy Allen and David Allen, Jr. Her sisters, Laura Accardo and Lena Albanese, preceded Josie in death.
