Myra Ann Prevost Velasco, 61, of Nederland, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Gulf Health Care Nursing Center in Port Arthur.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Broussard’s in Nederland with entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Velasco was a native of Jeanerette, Louisiana and lived in Nederland 45 years. She was a homemaker and spent her life devoted to her family. She was also a member of the 7th Street Baptist Church in Nederland.
Mrs. Velasco was preceded in death by her parents, Harton Joseph Prevost, and Regina DeCuir Prevost. She is survived by her Husband, Emilio Velasco of Nederland; grandmother, Eliska Rice of Franklin, Louisiana; two daughters, Heather Velasco of Beaumont, and Christine Rodriguez of Beaumont; three sons, Will Blankenship of Beaumont, Josh Velasco of Houston; and Chris Velasco of Nederland; three sisters Myrtis Abrego and husband Frank of Port Neches, Myrna Winans and husband Larry of Cleburne, and Melissa Kiker and husband David of Port Neches; one brother, Fulton Prevost and wife Marietta of Pickensville, Alabama; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, her devoted nurses, Shirley Pitre, and Doris Brazle, and 8 grandchildren.
