Marlot Kay Jones Trahan, 51, daughter of the late Wesley H. “Buddy” Jones and Dorothy Mae Gibbs Jones of Beaumont, was born December 10, 1954. She died on August 10, 2006 after a short illness. She was a beloved and loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend.
A lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was employed by Oaks Golden Triangle Living Center, a graduate of Forest Park High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother; two sons, Jared Wayne Trahan and Jason Lee Trahan and his wife Lindsey Ann Trahan of Beaumont; two sisters, Diane Gibbs Jones Smith of Beaumont and Sharon Marie Jones Beekman of Conway, Arkansas; grandson, Logan Wesley Trahan and soon a granddaughter, Londyn Ann Trahan; two nephews, two nieces, two great nieces, and a great nephew.
Her greatest love was that of family, especially her young grandson. She was joyously awaiting the birth of a granddaughter after raising sons and having a grandson. Her enjoyment and pleasure came from time spent with family, friends, pets, and art.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. August 13, 2006 at Broussard’s, 1605 N Major Drive, Beaumont followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening, August 12, 2006 at the mortuary.
The family thanks the critical vascular care staff at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston for their courageous efforts.
