Floyd Smith, age 73, of Port Acres, passed away August 7, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born February 5, 1933 in Hamshire, TX and had been a lifelong area resident. He retired in 1988 from the Sheet Metal Union of Orange after serving many years in air conditioning work. He was member of the St. Theresa Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jackie Smith; one son, Joseph Smith and wife, Lori; six daughters, Belinda Smith, Darlene Errington, Becky Hardin and husband, Derky, Vicky Smith, Agnes Harrington and husband, Danny and Christine Lambert and husband, Ellis. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Morris and Daisy Swanzy and two brothers, Rufus Smith and Donnie Smith.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his daughter Bernadette Prince.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Broussard’s Mortuary 505 12th St. in Nederland with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 10, 2006 at St. Theresa Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church with Reverend Antony Moozhikuzhy presiding. Following the Funeral Mass, the family will honor Mr. Smith’s wishes for cremation.
