David A. “Butch” David, 46, of Kountze, died peacefully on August 3, 2006. A native of Lumberton, Texas and a resident of Kountze, Butch lived all his life in Hardin County.
As a self employed painter for the last 26 years he took great pride in his work leading to his Hardin County “Best Painter Award” in 2005.
“Butch” as everyone knew him was all but the rough burly nickname he was tagged with. He was a devoted dad and placed his family and friends above all else. His big heart shined above his numerous traits. His passions included hunting, fishing, cooking, TV land and western movies, football and NASCAR. He was loved by many and so many were touched by his gentle kindness. Butch made his children proud in all he did and will be missed like the 6 A.M. phone call from George or the late night strawberry malt but Butch will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by Joey David, a very special son, Robert Castolenia, his dad, Sheila Hall loving companion, James Castolenia brother.
He is survived by his best friend and mother of his children: Suszanne Nichols and her husband, James; two daughters: Kristi Reyes and her husband Fernando, Brandy Hart and her husband Matt, all of Kountze; step son: Trey Hall of Nome; six very special grandchildren: Kurtis, Alex, Krista Reyes, Morgan Hart, Kendra Hall, Logan David; father: Elmer David of Kountze; mother Thelma Castolenia of Silsbee; brothers: Robert David of Beaumont, Lawrence Castolenia of Colorado, Don Castolenia of Beaumont, Lee Castolenia of Warren, Mike Castolenia of Lumberton; sisters: Francis Bently of Silsbee, Barbra Mitchell of Silsbee, Carolyn Harper of Lumberton and numerous nieces and nephews.
