BERTHA MELANCON BERGERON
Bertha Melancon Bergeron, 90 of Hamshire, died July 17, 2006 at the Arboretum of Winnie.
Bertha was born March 7, 1916 in Rayne, Louisiana and was a retired custodian with the Hamshire-Fannett ISD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm Thursday, July 20, 2006 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 125 W. Buccaneer Dr. with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 19, 2006 with a rosary at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Bertha is survived by her two sons, Leroy Bergeron and his wife, Nancy Jo of Austin and Larry Bergeron and his wife, Nelda of Port Neches; sister, Ella Landry of Hamshire, Hilda Perkins of Marion, North Carolina and Evelyn Casey of Vidor; brothers, Louis Melancon and Ray Melancon of Hamshire and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Antoine (Uncle Bye) Bergeron; her mother and father, Estelle and Joe (Melo) Melancon; sisters, Clara LeLeux and Alpha Broussard; brothers, Martin Melancon, Wilbert (Tee) Melancon, Johnny Melancon and granddaughter, Michele Bergeron.
